Tour guide in Paris?

When my wife and went to Italy we used a tour guide (Angel Tours) and we were very happy we did. She got us past the cues and really explained things we would have overlooked. Does anyone recommend getting a guide for a day in Paris? If so, who? Thanks!

There are two(2) independent, local Paris guides who get consistently %26#39;..rave..%26#39; reviews (as well as proposal of marraige and offers of adoption) from past clients ---

CHRISTIANE MICHELS--

LINDA MATHIEU--

Don%26#39;t be put-off by what may at first appear to be an emphasis on photography. Though both are passionate and talented amateur photographers; their %26#39;..experience..%26#39; is much broader and more diverse and varied than just this (though having someone along who has probably photographed Paris from most angles can help with your own souvenir photos of your trip...and take your photo together...so that it won%26#39;t look as if you took %26#39;separate vacations%26#39;)....and with a bit of advance knowledge of your own personal preferences, priorities, interests and %26#39;..expectations..%26#39;, either can %26#39;..customize..%26#39; a day tour to suit individual requirements.

Contact them be e-mail to get a better idea of what sort of a %26#39;..fit..%26#39; they%26#39;ll be. If for any reason they can%26#39;t meet your particular requirements....they can probably direct you to someone who can. Either lady would be a first-rate choice.

I used Linda on my first trip to Paris. The photo part is no big deal as I did%26#39;t take one photo. She also has a friend named Barbara that works with her. I have used both and both are from US so language is not a problem. Linda does not speak French and Barbara does. You can%26#39;t go wrong with either one.

Thanks for the input. I booked with Barbara.

I randomly met a woman sitting next to me in a restaurant one night during my trip, who turned out to be a private tour guide. She is from NY and has been living in Paris for the past 20 years or so. She was very interesting, seemed fun, and knew a ton about the city. Her name is Pam and her website is parisperspectives.com. We never called her for a tour, although strongly considered it. I think she would at least be worth contacting for more info. Contact information is available on the brochure on her website.

I used Cityrama when I visited Normandy (the D-Day tour) with my mom this past November.

The guide was fantastic and I know they do tours of Paris as well specific by location or attraction.

The website is http://www.cityrama.fr/

I just got back from Paris and I would reccomend Paris Vision or Cityrama tours. There were extremely long lines at the major sites and there was so much time saved with these tour groups.

Paris Vision is my first choice because they have small group tours with no more than 8 people and there is even pick up and drop off to/ from you hotel.
