I have heard there is an elevator in the Arc de Triomphe for disabled people. I will be traveling with my mother who sometimes uses a cane, as well as the fact that I am 4 months pregnant...do you think that they will let us use it? I know it sounds crazy, but I find myself getting out of breath going up stairs of any kind, and am pretty sure I will not make it up the almost 300 stairs, but still would love to take in the view from the top. I guess worse case scenario, I could just walk back down if I can%26#39;t make it to the top.
I guess Notre Dame%26#39;s tower is out of the picture....he he
Thanks!

There is a lift precisely for such cases, and I would advise you to go in it also, the stairs are very claustrophobic and the Arc is higher than it looks, but definitely worth it.

You will have no problems being allowed to use the lift. I simply inquired at the entrance to the stairs if the stairs up were circular in nature. I did not ask for the lift or indicate that I could not do the stairs. The woman said that yes they were circular, but then pointed me to the lift. My friend and I waited for no more than 2 minutes, the lift appeared, and we walked right in no questions asked. We were the only two people in the lift up!

You both will have to walk up to the ticket counter which is about 20 steps then to the ground level which is about another 15 steps and then go to the lift the lift doesn%26#39;t go to the top( at least that is what I was told) you will both have to walk another 18 steps to the top.
It was too much for me so this time I did not do it because I was in a bit of leg pain (as I am disabled and I had done it several times before) my husband went up the lift no problem at all.
