Cannes or Nice? for honeymoon

i will be in the French riveria in Mid July for 5 nights, should I spend these in NIce or in Cannes for my honeymoon? suggestions are appreciated

Congratulations.

Nice is a big, very central %26amp; nice city with great connections with everywhere. I hear there%26#39;s been a lot of construction there as of late though--a streetcar was it? You might want to check into that. I like Nice as a base.

Cannes is smaller. It%26#39;s got fewer connections and you might run out of things to see...it%26#39;s your honeymoon...you may or may not want that to happen! When%26#39;s that film festival?

If you%26#39;re getting there immediately after the wedding, think through whether you want total convalescence from all of the wedding planning (are you the groom or bride? be sure to consult with him/her!!) or if you think you%26#39;ll be ready to run around like crazy.

Congratulations again.

Agree that Nice is more central if you want to see a few places like Villefranche, Antibes, Monaco etc. It is a big city and quite disrupted and dirty with the tram construction going on at the moment .It can also take quite a while to find your way around in the heat of July.

If you want a more relaxing honeymoon in a smart hotel and a bit of sand on your beach ,would go for Cannes and take a hop on hop off train along the coast to the places above on a couple of days

I was in Nice last summer and it was quite urban and yes, major construction disruption. I would stay in a smaller area - Antibes is my choice for a return, an go to Nice on Day trips only.
