We will be in Arras for 2 nights. We are looking at booking the Hotel Diamant for our stay from the good T/A reports.
Has anyone been there recently? Would you recommend another hotel?

We stayed there a while ago, booking on the internet as it%26#39;s a good location, as bengodog says. The downsides we found was that we had to park the car on a side street as the hotel had no parking available (and the square outside couldn%26#39;t be used on a Friday evening because of the market on Saturday); we also ended up in a very small garret about 5 floors up - and there was no lift.
We%26#39;d probably not stay again, as I was underwhelmed by the attic, but not willing to make a fuss about an overnight stop. I also found Arras distinctly lacking in atmosphere when we went out for a meal in the evening.
Don%26#39;t let that put you off the town - we had an excellent meal at whichever restaurant we found (sorry, can%26#39;t remember) and one of the %26#39;magic moments%26#39; taking my family on holiday many years ago was stage-managing an entry onto a deserted Grand%26#39; Place on a sunny Sunday morning - reduced them to silence, which doesn%26#39;t often hapen!
