Youth Hostel/Cheap Hotel Central Paris/Latin Qtr

WE are 4 students looking for an inexpensive hotel or youth hostel in the heart of historic Paris for the 2nd week of May. Prefer a location within a 30 minute walk of Notre Dame. Latin Quarter would be great. Suggestions from other neighborhoods also greatly appreciated.

Hi JCM

This group of MIJE hostels in the Marais are in brilliant locations and local expert Metromole has recommended them before.

Here are a couple of other hostel websites

You can also find cheap hotels that are fine, particularly if you are happy to share bathrooms in the hall. This one has some doubles with private bathroom with shower and WC for 60 Euro but not sure if they have twins or just doubles

The rooms with shared bathrooms here are also almost as cheap as hostels as the cheapest per person prices for hostels in large dorms tend to be around 24 Euros even in dorms

(also check other hotels on the eurocheapo.com site)

This hotel in the Latin Quarter is very central

Dear Faux,

Thank you for this WONDERFUL information. Very, very helpful.

Do you have similar info for London?

Hi JCM,

No, sorry, I always stay with a friend in London or I would not stay in London at all, as it is too expensive. When I did stay there in cheap hotels a few times over ten years ago, I found the cost of %26quot;equivalent%26quot; (but not nearly as nice) accommodation in London was about twice the cost in Paris.

Check the London Forum for the cheapest options there
