France, Paris-Stay near eiffel tower vs Louvre

My wife and I planning to travel to Paris, 1 st week of June.

We are planning to stay either in near Eiffel Tower -vs Near TheLouvre. (campanile paris tour eiffel vs timhotel palais louvre)

We are young and will be actively sightseeing and will use the hotel mainly to sleep and will be out atleast 9a to 9p.We are not crazy party types. But enjoy good dinning.

If you stay near the tower then you%26#39;ll probably have to take public transport ,IMHO, to get everywhere besides the tower.

Stay in the heart of town by the Louvre instead.

Second previous opinion.. have been to Paris 5 times we always stay in Latin Quarter.. easy access to metro, easy walk to sights of interest, many good restaurants here and in Marais.. stay near the Louvre

If you stay near the Eiffel Tower you will generally be in a quieter and residential (and in my opinion, more charming) neighborhood than if you stay near the Louvre, but you might be cut off from more attractions. Personally, I am biased towards anywhere on the left bank, but I do find the area by the Eiffel Tower inconvenient metro-wise, so if you are looking for quick access to major tourist sites it might be better to stay by the Louvre. Of course, hotels by the Eiffel Tower aren%26#39;t too far from the Musee Rodin, Musee d%26#39;Orsay and les Invalides, Trocadero/Palais de Chaillot (note: a good place to take a picture with the Tour Eiffel in the background), and of course, the Tour itself, so it really is a toss up. Sorry if this confuses you more, but I hope it helps a little! Good luck!
