transport from La Grand Arche to Notre Dame

We are arriving at CDG at 8:50AM and getting transportation to the hotel Sofitel La Grand Arche at 11:00. We would like to get to services at Notre Dame sometime that day. Could anyone tell me if there is public transportation and if so, what kind of and how much money would I need. Also, if anyone has knowledge of the Mass schedule it would be much appreciated.

You can find the mass schedule here:

For transportation take metro line 1 - direction Château de Vincennes. I am not 100% sure, but I think that when you take the metro from la Défense (instead of the RER-train), one ticket (zones 1+2) is enough. The cheapest for you is to buy a %26quot;carnet%26quot; which is a bundle of 10 tickets (10,90 euro).

Hop off at Châtelet - cross the Seine and you can%26#39;t miss it.

Hi

The metro is the way to go. I went on a work trip to Paris a couple of weeks back and I took a taxi from the Eiffel tower to La Grand Arche and that took forever due to the traffic. So it is much better to take the metro. Have you seen the metro map on ratp.info/picts/plans/gif/reseaux/metro.gif ?

I%26#39;ll send you my Paris trip report with pictures and links as a private message :-)

Regards

Gard

Hi Gard, Many thanks for the info and your great trip report. After seeing your pictures and reading your very informative report we are even more excited about our upcoming trip. Best, Slowski

From Sofitel La Defense, take the METRO Line 1, it is a little bit closer than the RER line station, in %26quot;Esplanade de la Défense%26quot;. Stop in Hotel de ville, then you have a nive 10 minutes walk to Notre dame. From Sofitel, it won%26#39;t be more that 45minutes trip.

Thanks so much for the great directions. I had no idea it would be a 45 minute ride. That helps a lot in our planning.

You can cut the travel time in half for an additional 70 cents (70 centième) per person by taking the RER-A from La Défense to Chatelet. It%26#39;s a short and beautiful walk to Notre Dame from Chatelet but you can transfer to Metro Line 4 and get off at the Cité stop to cut the walking part a bit.

That sounds like a fine idea, a beautiful walk would be welcome after a long flight. Thanks for the input.
