Uncrowded Beach near Nice?

I know its a weird question but, does anyone know of any beaches that don%26#39;t have many crowds? I ask because I want to go topless but not in front of 300 people :( First time would like to try it out in a less touristy area.

A few years ago while driving through the coast I notice a few small beaches with what seemed like locals. Would like something like that?

Thanks

Nice beaches are frankly crap unless you like lying on big flat stones. So consider looking out good beaches accessible from Nice, that are not crowded.

First recommendation is Villefranche sur Mer, nearest town East, meets your requirements about %26quot;deshabille%26quot;

Best sandy baches nearest Nice are Antibes and Juan Les Pins. Cannes is good too but a bit intense and glam%26#39;

for really not crowded and good sand, consider

Plage Mala, Cap d%26#39;Ail

Plage la Garoupe, Cap d%26#39;Antibes

Plage La Paloma Beach, St Jean Cap Ferrat

Plage Passable, Cap Ferrat

Any of these will meet your needs

This is maybe a silly question, but how will I know if a beach is private or public? Are there any posted signs? Or will I be able to tell simply because they have chairs and umbrellas?

%26quot;Private%26quot; areas of a beach are simply a concession by which the operator has staked out an area with a boundary fence and filled it with sunbeds and parasols and usually a bar and restaurant, and charges you 20 euros for the day. Where you find just plain sand is %26quot;public%26quot;

Crowds will be a bit dependent on the time of year.

Other suggestions are:

The succession of beaches between Juan les Pins and Golfe Juan

The public beaches in Golfe Juan itself ( bit smaller )

The succession of beaches stretching from the old port in Cannes towards Cannes La Bocca ( Plages du Midi) and beyond towards Mandelieu la Napoule

Sure you can find a few uncrowded square metres to enjoy somewhere among that lot!
