First of all thank you so much for all the informative information I received on Paris, it was soooo helpful and accurate.
It goes without saying Paris is just beautiful! I never even gave this one a thought. Those wonderful rolling blinds they have on the hotel windows - wow what a wonderful sleep I had, it lets in like NO light - where does one purchase these in the States?

Most houses in Germany have those, too. I think we ar talking about the same ones. They are so versatile, can be adjusted for light or privacy, or rolled up out of sight in the daytime. They are set right into the window casing, and also make the window very secure, as well as quiet and private.
Sorry I don%26#39;t have a name for a supplier. I did see an ad for them once in the Seattle papers, but didn%26#39;t follow up, because that would bite into my travel budget!

Do you mean Roman Shades?
If so, see www.countrycurtains.com
But, there are all sorts of other resources.
Another good resource for blinds (ideas) is www.blindstogo.com (click on %26quot;online shopping%26quot;).
We have a door and and windows on either side to our deck, with southern exposure. For years, we put off investing in an expensive awning.
Then, we discovered Roman Shades! Awesome!

I believe the OP is referring to these metal shades that are on the exterior of the window. They can be lowered to keep out light and they are very effective. We stayed at Hotel d%26#39;Angleterre in Paris and a hotel in Belfort where they had these blinds.

These metal roller blinds are a security type window covering . My French cousins have them over all their windows and doors on their houses.
In the USA a company that sells something like them is :
www.rollashield.com/rollingshutters.html

We have them on all our windows.
