This is a simple question. nice or Monaco - Where would you guys stay for 3 nights and why????
I dont have much time to decide and would love to go to both, howvever I can only go to 1 of them. I am leaning towards Nice as it is supposed to be such a beautiful city and is alot cheaper then Monaco. However, I have always pictured Monaco to be a place to visit before I leave Europe. I dont know alot about either so if anyone could help me, I would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much for your help

For me, I would choose Nice for your same reasons and more. The additional reason is that Monaco bores me. Okay. It is interesting, and I take friends there all the time if they%26#39;ve never seen it. However, besides wandering about for a few hours and a meal or so, that%26#39;s usually enough of Monaco for any of us. Nice, on the other hand makes a far better base camp that%26#39;s a lot more down to earth. Lots of outstanding easy connections to everywhere. Many more options for meals, etc. For me, Nice has a much more livelier night scene as well. Nice is bustling and wonderful on a warm summer evening. Monaco is just unreal.

I agree with Darth, Nice is much livelier and less expensive. You can always do a day trip to Monaco.
We were in Nice a few years ago and fell in love with it. We would say we enjoyed our stay there more than Paris. People are more down to earth and approachable.
While there on tour, we spent half a day in Monaco and one evening in Monte Carlo. It is a beautiful, small, and expensive country. But I don%26#39;t think it’s worth more than a day in.
We will be staying in Nice for 4 days in early June. We plan to rent a car to travel to all the inland towns and provence, but a car is not necessary. There are trains and buses that make traveling through the Riviera very easy and inexpensive.

Hi Mrs,
Where would you recommend for accomodation? My friend and I are still undecided on where to stay for 3 nights (on budget travel) esp reading so many mixed reviews on hotels...was planning on Hotel Crillon but seems to have negative reviews..

You are on a budget. Nice Crillon is fine. Its just some people - those who post reviewsonline sometimes get all upset when they are paying 50 euro a night and don%26#39;t get 250 euro a night service and facilities. Weve been using Crillon over a number of years and its basic, perfectly centrally located, reliable and secure. Its a place to sleep and its price is outstanding value.
Cheers
