Any ideas for a really good seafood restaurant? We are looking for somewhere special for our first night and are willing to pay a bit extra, say, EUR 70 (excl. wine). We are staying in St Germain but not really bothered for location if you know somewhere good.
Thanks

Hi,
I can recommend Le Dome on Boul. Montparnasse (Metro: Vavin). Reservation necessary, but it is famous for the seafood ...

Have eaten twice at La Cagouille in the 14th arrond. 2 minutes walk from Gaite metro station. Find more details from its website. On both occasions had sublime seafood and desserts. Seafood cooked simply and with integrity. On both visits presented with a small dish of lightly cooked cockles as an appetiser. Delicious! Excellent service. You will need to book. On both occasions, we were the only non-french diners. Menu, written on whiteboard daily is in French only. This is an authentic and non touristy experience. A bit off the beaten track but a real find!
