Had a great time in Paris. Thank you.

Bonjour madame-monsieur

Was in Paris for easter break. Wow, the trip exceeded all my expectations. Only regret is that I was there for only a short while. Thanks to mlschless and blossom who helped with itinerary. But our holiday was nothing like our itinerary. It was very leisurely.

Day1: Arrived hotel, rooms not ready, so just dumped our luggage. Bought a collection of cheese, wine, meat, n bread and headed for Palace Concorde. It was lovely weather n didnt want to waste time waiting for room. It took a while figuring out Gare Montparnasee. But overall, metro is very easy to use. quite cheap compared to london underground. n good frequency of trains.

It was beautiful weather, bright sunshine, no cold breeze After strolling through palace concorde n jardin tuileries, we settled down for our picnic. we spent hours there soaking the atmosphere.

we then crossed the bridge to musee d orsay. it was nearing 5.00. we headed straight to the 5th floor. just managed to see that floor only. the view from top is amazing as well.

outside two guys were performing some acrobatics on rollerskates. enjoyed that for a while. We slowly walked back along the seine to Louvre. And what a spectacular museum. There were long queues, but we had museum pass. So we skipped that.

My husband just fell in love with louvre. We spent 2-3 hours there, before heading back to hotel. Once at hotel we checked in. We were told no ET facing rooms. But the room key they gave us was wrong, somebody already staying in the room. They hastily sorted it out n gave us another room. That was amazing because our room had good view of Eiffel Tower. There it was all lit up, right in front of us. I was so happy.

After shower we headed for dinner. L%26#39;Atlantique: beautiful atmosphere, busy place n nice food. My hubby claims the steak he ate there was best he has had all his life.

Day2: Weather was cloudy. So instead of going Notre Dame we went back to Louvre. Again picnic in Tuileries, weather was bright n sunny again. After lunch, we took the bus to Notre Dame. Ces%26#39;t Magnifique. Must see for anybody visiting paris.

Again walked leisurely towards next destination Berthillion Ice cream. Queue for that as well. umm yummy icecream.

Later in evening took the metro to montmarte. Again a different type of paris. Sacre-coeur, artists, crepe n cafe creme. Just got lost in crowds of people there.

Dinner that night at Le France opposite our hotel. Which we regretted and did not like at all. Stay away.

Day 3: Reached Trocadero n got beautiful view of ET. It was another nice day but chilly coz of cold breeze. The queue was long and it took us while to figure which queue to take if going up by stairs. Another long queue to go to top. We had snacks n cafe at bottom waiting in queue.

Got down around 3:00 n headed to Rue Cler. But unfortunately it was closed. Had Late Lunch at La Terrasse. it is recommended, nice outdoor seating, friendly staff, n good food.

took the metro to Arc de Triomphe. again queues to go to top. but not a problem if u have a museum pass.

later that night took cityrama seine + moulin rouge cruise. Paris looks beautiful at night. evening cruise of seine highly recommended. You will remember it all your life. Moulin was spectacular. But probable wont see such kinda of show again. Seen one seen all, I think.

Bus dropped us near hotel, had dinner at 2:00 at night at Hippo. Again we liked the food n staff.

Day 4: Got up late in day. got ready n checked out of hotel. left our luggage there n went back to louvre again. cest magnifique.

Had breakfast n then later lunch at louvre carousel. wide variety of food, self service.

And then headed back to Gare du Nord for return journey home.

Au revoir Paris. I will see you again.

Nice to hear that your holiday was leisurely. I think that%26#39;s the best way to enjoy Paris.

The information I got on this forum was blessing coz ours was last minute trip. So hadnt got time to plan or look into guidebooks. Amazing how internet has changed our lives.

Sorry to all purists. Noticed lots of spelling mistakes in my above post.
