2 night brk centre of Paris or outskirts with two children

My husband and two boys ages 9 %26amp; 10 years are torn between staying on the outskirts of Paris and in Paris. We are staying two nights and would like to spend a full day in the centre of Paris and possibly the second day at Disneyland.

One suggestion was the Holiday Inn Disneyland, 3km outside the park. It seems very good value compared to Hotels in the centre of town . Although we have a car, we could like to use the public transport travelling into the centre. Any advise on the above would be very much appreciated,

Places to stay, places to see and is it worth visiting Disneyland for one day, and do you tend to get more for your money with hotels on the outskirts. Good service and a hotel room that would accommodate 2 adults and two children.

Hi Skylurk

How much do you hope to pay per night to accommodate all four of you?

|||

Is the purpose of your holiday a trip to Paris for yourselves, and you add Disney in to pacify the kids? - in which case stay in Paris.

Or is it primarily a trip to Disney for the kids and you thought a trip into Paris would be an idea? - in which case stay closer to Disney. Parking is likely to be easier and certainly cheaper than in Paris proper.

The RER (regional train) runs from the park gates to central Paris and takes about 45 minutes. I think a one day Mobilis pass is the best ticket at EUR 12.30 per person. (Zones 1-5).

In 99% of cases I would say stay in Paris, but this may be in the 1% when it%26#39;s more practical to stay out in the suburbs.

It%26#39;s a tough one to call.

Hi Skylurk

I hope you dont mind my answering your TA mail on the forum but there is a benefit in getting input from others, particularly as I have never been to Disneyland Paris and cannot comment on accommodation there. Between £ 90.00 - £150 per room per night is approx 132 Euros to 220 Euros which will get you quite a few good options in Paris or at Disneyland, even to accommodate 4 people

Kebabs%26#39; comment is quite right, if you want to spend both days at Disney then you should stay nearby but if you want to spend a bit of time in Paris - if only just the evenings, then I agree with Kebabs that you should stay in Paris. That is the decision only you can make. If you do decide to stay in the centre, then consider an apartment, either Citadines.com style serviced apartments near Chatelet (so you are close to the RER line A to Disney) or an ordinary one - some sites let them out by the day depending on availability - this is one

One thing in favour of staying at Disney would be parking for your car if you are bringing it from the UK but if you are hiring it in France, I would wait until you are about to leave Paris.

Thankyou both kebabs and Faux for your advise. To help norrow it down I spoken to both my sons. The answer was a little surprising but very pleaseing, they would both prefare to visit the centre of Paris with the Eiffel Tower first on the list. I think we may be packing to much in to do both centre and Disneyland. Now we have to decide wehter to stay on the outskirts as we will have our car ( so parking may be a problem) or stay in the centre at a hotel that has parking.

Hi Skylurk

Which are the two nights you are staying?

|||

We are arriving approximately at 7.00pm of 6th June and leaving mid day 8th June

|||

Your sons have made a good choice in my opinion.

Driving in central Paris can be challenging to say the least, and parking is really expensive. (Very few central hotels have parking) When we drive we always park the car out in the suburbs and take the train in to a central hotel: assuming you%26#39;re going from Dover to Calais /Boulogne / Dunkerque you could park at Charles de Gaulle airport and get the RER train into Paris.

I hope you all have a lovely time.
