What are fastpasses and how do you get them. Will I need them for the young childrens rides taking a three year old

A fastpass allows you to basically %26quot;pre book%26quot; a timeslot at which you come back to the ride, join a shorter queue than the main queue and ride the ride. There are only so many fastpass tickets per ride issued each day.
To get a fastpass you will see the fastpass machines located next to the rides that have them. Above the machines will be a time window displaying the timeslot they are offering them for. You queue up and insert your ticket (you need to insert each ticket for each rider) and you then get a fastpass ticket for each person.
The rides with fastpasses in the Disney Park are:
Buzz Lightyear
Space Mountain
Peter Pan
Big Thunder Mountain
Star Tours
In Disney Studios on busy days they are on
Rock and Rollercoaster
Flying Carpets.
It explains them fully here dlrpmagic.com/guides/…
The only kids ride that has them is Peter Pan and I%26#39;d go and get them early as on busy days they can be all gone by 11.00am
