Opera National de Paris

Hi, we are going to Paris in May, and we are going to go see a ballet at the Opera National while we are there. I am trying to pack as light as possible, and I was wondering whether it is essential that I pack a suit? Has anyone dealt with this problem in the past? Any suggestions?

Unless you are sitting in the cheap seats I think a jacket is appropriate. Doesn%26#39;t have to be a suit — a dressy sport coat and dress slacks would be fine IMO.
