Help me pick Hotels! 1st time to Paris

Ok we%26#39;re planning to stay in Paris for 2 nights mid August.

We have 2 children, aged 3 yrs and 8 months.

We do NOT want to spend more than $200 US on a hotel per night.

We will have 6 suitcases and 2 carry ons (we will be on a stop over to the middle east and are staying 2 nts, hence SO MUCH luggage!!!)

Taking ALL THE ABOVE into consideration, pls help me decide on a hotel!

Best Western Le Jardin de Cluny

Le Meridien Montparnasse

Hotel D%26#39;Albe St.Michel

Novotel Paris Gare Montparnasse

I%26#39;d LOVE to stay in St.Germain/Latin Qtr, BUT with 2 young children and so much luggage, is it doable/possible??!!!

PLEASE help me decide or any other suggestions would be great too!

THANKS!!!

I stayed at the Best Western Jardin de Cluny in late 2005. I was very pleased with it, as it was clean, modern, and I felt secure there. The rooms were small, but that is customary in Paris. Probably any hotel will store your extra luggage for you in their bell room (I would ask at the time you make your reservation if this is possible.) The staff at this Best Western was very accommodating to me and I felt that if I asked nicely, they would have helped me with any special requests.

The only thing I did not like is that they require you to leave your room key with them when you leave the hotel (or at least they did in 2005 - it may be different now). (This is standard in some hotels, and not standard in others, but I just didn%26#39;t like someone constantly monitoring my comings and goings, or having to wait to pick up or drop off my keycard if they were busy with another customer.)

Also, it may be above your price range. I see it listed in the hotel pages as $250/night, but you can always call them to see if you can get a better deal.

The location is very good - a few blocks up and over from Notre Dame; just a block or two up from St. Germain Blvd.

I%26#39;ve also been inside the LeMeridien Montparnasse (but haven%26#39;t stayed there). This is a beautiful, much larger hotel (also above your price range) but I%26#39;m quite sure that as a Starwoods property it is very well-equipped to handle the needs of parents with very small children. It definitely has the space to store extra luggage!

I hope you are bringing a stroller so you can enjoy the stay-over!

I went on the Best Western Le Jardin De Cluny web site and clicked on their %26quot; specials%26quot; and saw some very good deals for mid August. I have always booked directly with hotels and gotten some very good rates that way. Also, mid August ( believe it or not) is not high season in Paris so the rates are often favorable from mid to late August.

I may also suggest the Brighton Hotel, get the view room , they are fairly large by Parisian standard, good for a family. Book them through Esprit de France (which is their web site.)
