At the end of our week in Paris, we are picking up a rental car from Avis at Orly and heading south to Beaune. We have easy access to the RER at St. Michel, so we could take the RER B line to Orly, but it looks like we would also have to take a shuttle bus. Is this a fairly easy trip, or should we just take a taxi? Approximately how much would a taxi to Orly cost?
Does anyone know where the Avis counter is located at Orly? Is it convenient to get to from the RER?
Our e-mail confirmation from Avis says %26quot;Pickup location: Paris, Aeroport D%26#39;orly, Aerogares Ouest %26amp; Sud.%26quot; I guess that means we can pick up a car from either terminal.

RER is a good option during rush hours.
According to where you will be in Paris, buses could be one also.
Check here for buses times table and cost:

The best thing to do from Paris (whether you come by Bus, taxi or RER) is to stop at ORLY West Terminal. Then go to the ground floor (Arrival floor) : there is an Avis office.
If it is not there, you go to Orly south by Automatic Metro:
- take on the left hand when you are oin front of AVIS Office
- follow ORLYVAL sign post, then Orly SUD (Orly South) direction.
It is 2 minutes walking from the AVIS office, there is a shuttle every 5 minutes and it takes no more than 3 minutes to joint Orly south.
The shuttle is free.
It is a good idea to rent your car at Orly, so you are on the south of Paris, very close to the motorway that will bring you to Beaune.
