Our family of four (2 adults + kids:18 + 10) have had our stay in Nice cut down to 2 days. Short stays are difficult. How do you prioritise? Would some kind soul suggest the best way to use this time. Thought one day would be a long walk, seen in a previous post:The Old Town and the Cours Saléya, Castle Hill ,Promenade des Anglais. Is it worth a trip to Monaco? Thanks!

We went to Nice last year for 3 days (no kids). We arrived early Friday afternoon and after checking into our hotel went for a stroll to the beach and lazed in the sun for a couple of hours (we went mid-June so the weather was great) before wandering into the main shopping area for a browse/bite to eat.
On the Saturday we went to Monaco/Monte Carlo - we caught a bus from the main bus station which was a 5 minute walk from our hotel. The bus was cheap, about 2 euros each ?, but was crowded on the way there - we had to stand all the way which wasn%26#39;t ideal given the heat !!. We got off next to the Monte Carlo casino and then wandered down the hill to the harbour front in Monaco. We then caught a bus up to the castle and then took the mini road train which does a circuit of the castle area, along the harbour up to Monte Carlo and then back.
On the Sunday we went back to the beach in Nice and caught the road train which does a circuit of the town including going up castle hill. We got off here and the views over Nice/the coast are impressive. There is also a cafe bar and gift shop. On the way back to the beach the road train passes a beautiful war memorial cut into the side of castle hill.
The rest of Sunday was spent wandering round the market area and having a few beers in one of the bars (whilst watching the World Cup).
I think you could do the trip to Monaco and the tour of Nice comfortably in 2 days (we caught the bus to Monaco about 10:00am and were back in Nice at about 06:00 pm) I%26#39;m no expert on the area and as always you won%26#39;t see everything in such a short period of time.

Two days and a family with teenagers?
One day to mooch around Nice - youve got the general picture already - I can tell from your list. Do the obvious
Day two - if I had just one day spare its just got to be Monaco. Give the kids something %26quot;aspirational%26quot; could be a good investment. Take the train - time is short - and do some homework. The Musee Oceonographique on the edge of Monte Carlo, with its three storey shark lagoon, is an absolute must for the kids - wipe that %26quot;Woteva...%26quot; look off their faces.
Prince Ranier%26#39;s classic car collection should keep any man happy. And take a drink (expensive!) and people watch (free!) at the cafe de Paris opposite the Casino.
Back to Nice and eat out. Bingo, your done!
Cheers
