Anyone moved to live and work in south France, but can only speak a little french? What is the possiblilty of finding work etc?

Unemployment is high in France - if you have specific skills like yacht-crew with qualifications or estate agency negotiatior there are opportunities, but casual work is hard to come by. Pool-cleaners and babysitters, but not real work - language skills are the key to real work. I suggest you need a plan, but I don%26#39;t sense one. Why not start by pulling up your French? That will start to open doors.

It%26#39;s not impossible, but there are a lot of English people here already looking for work. Nicelife is right in that it%26#39;s fairly easy to pick up babysitting/cleaning or villa work. There%26#39;s a great site where people look for and advertise jobs, called angloinfo.com. and if you%26#39;re thinking of looking for a job on a boat, you won%26#39;t need a word of French !

Sounds like I%26#39;m on the right track then - I have just done a years evening course to brush up my french, and have looked in to yacht jobs with my boyfriend already!

Thanks
