Turning 50 in Paris

As my profile name suggests , I will be turning 50 when I%26#39;m in Paris the beginning of June. My birthday is on a Friday.

Any suggestions on how to make this day memorable?

We are spending 10 days in Paris so don%26#39;t want to spend this day visiting the typical tourist spots.

My husband is also 50 but we at least believe we are young at heart. We like to do alot of walking and would appreciate some ideas for unique things to do both in the day and evening.

Thanks

How about going to the Bois de Boulogne, I have not been, but it has got to be the place for less touristy walks and still very Parisian.

I believe there are some nice restaurants within the %26#39;Park%26#39; too, very romantic looking.

In the evening I would splash out on a really swank restaurant for such an important occasion, how about Le Tour D%26#39;Argent???

Bon Anniversaire

oh yes, how about a day at the races? either at Longchamp or Chantilly - if there is a meeting, of course!

To help suggestions , could you say what you like and what you don%26#39;t like ?

You are all correct and very helpful

We like things that are less tourist and more life lile it is in Paris.

We a pretty detailed iternary for all the high points in Paris including a tour to Beaunne.

I was thinking for my birthday I would try to think of something different then the usual tourist high points.

I know that Paris has so much to offer and reading all the guide books are giving us a great starting point for the area to explore and sites to see.

We really like to walk alot so will explore neighborhoods on foot.

We like theatre alot. My husband%26#39;s french is alright but I don%26#39;t speak French so it would have to be something in English.

Is there favourite walks that people have taken. It would also be nice to have something romantic.

I know that I%26#39;m still pretty vague but thought favourites of others would spark the right choice for us.

One place that would be excellent for a romantic stroll, and is a bit off the beaten path, is the park at the Buttes Chaumont, out in the 19th. Bring a picnic.

Hot air balloon %26amp; champagne over the Loire Valley?
