Traveling From Amsterdam to Paris

Me and my girlfriend will be traveling form Amsterdam to Paris and have an extra day in between. Looking for a nice Unique thing to see/do/stay in the northern France or Southern Netherlands/ Belgium area.

Any ideas?

Yes , Brugge and Gent in Belgium are 2 wonderful cities . If you have time to visit only one : Brugge
