Hello again - just replied to your post about Pornic v La Baule!

The bit of coast between Pornic and the island of Noirmoutier contains the Bay of Bourgneuf, which is really mud rather than sand (but v v good for oysters and for wading birds).

From Noirmoutier island around the corner to St-Jean-de-Monts is BIG sand, but just a big strip of it rather than a host of pretty little villages and harbours.

Personally, I like Fromentine, almost directly under Noirmoutier bridge, which has a lovely little beach. That%26#39;s probably your best bet. If you are looking for accommodation, I don%26#39;t know if there%26#39;s anything more than about 2-star there though.

The smart money stays on Noirmoutier island itself. Prettiest beaches are in the NE of the island, facing Pornic. Bois de la Chaize, Plage des Dames, Anse Rouge. There is a very smart hotel in the woodland just set back from the Bois de la Chaize beach. Can%26#39;t remember its name offhand.

Hope this is useful
