Hotel Advice Please--first time visit.

My wife and I will be visiting Nice for the first time in mid May for 3 nights.

Can anyone recommend a hotel convenient to the Old City? Price range up to 80 € a night.

There are a lot of hotels within walking distance of the old town, pedestrian area and beach. I can recomend Hotel Roosevelt. Have stayed there twice. Have a look at the reviews on this hotel and also their website.

Hi DentalDave,

You might also consider the Garden Hotel on the Rue du Congres, which is a block from the Pietonne, and about a 10 minute walk to the old town. Quite inviting, and almost the feeling of a B%26amp;B. Whatever, or wherever, enjoy!

Many thanks Sunnybun and funkster 1 for your advice.

I would like to stay at the Nice Garden Hotel, but it is always booked up when I have tried to book it.

www.nicegardenhotel.com. You need to book soon.

The Hotel Rex is a very simple, charming and cheap (ca €50 per night) hotel ideally situated in the heart of Nice, only 5 minutes walk from the beach. I stayed there for a week last August, and whilst it was very basic, the rooms were clean and the owner very friendly and helpful.

If you read the reviews of the Hotel Rex on this website, you will find that all of them are very positive.
