My wife and I arrive at CDG aipport on Monday, April 23rd from Canada. It is our first time to Paris.
I have taken 1 inch by inch digital photos of us (they%26#39;re in colour,- does that matter?) in order to buy two Carte Oranges for us for the week.
Can we buy the Carte Orange at the airport and then use it to get to our downtown hotel?
Thank you

Yes, BUT you will have to purchase zones 1-5 to travel from the airport. If you don%26#39;t plan on travelling outside zone 1-2 (central Paris) for 99% of your trip, buy a single-trip ticket from CDG to your hotel and buy the Carte Orange at a Metro station within central Paris.

I would only add to this that if you are returning to the airport by Sunday, go ahead and buy the Zone 1-5 CO, as it will actually be a tad less expensive, and much more convenient. Plus you%26#39;ll have your RER transportation paid for if you decide to head to Versailles (Zone 4). If you are returning to the airport after Sunday and don%26#39;t plan to visit Versailles, then PHer has given you excellent advice.
Purchasing a Zone 1-2 for 16€, a one-way RER transfer from CDG to the city for 8,60€ and a R/T Versailles RER ticket at 5,40€ actually gets pretty close (30€) to the 31,50€ for the 1-5 Zone pass, so if you%26#39;re heading to Versailles and the 2€ extra are worth it to you not to have to buy another ticket until you head back to the airport, then you might consider it anyway.
