Can anyone help...

I am moving to Tours later on in the year with my French girlfriend so I am looking for advice on working and living in France (and the problems I am going to face as a 31 year old Englishman in France).

My French language is currently pretty basic but I guess I will pick it up quite quickly when I am over there (I hope!).

My main concern is finding a job.

I have a hotel management background with all the relevant qualifications so I am hoping finding work will not be too difficult, although I know I am going to be limited by the language (I am not expecting to just walk into a management position).

I also have experience in the wine business- writing lists, sourcing suppliers etc.

Maybe an English owned hotel would be a good first step?

Any hoteliers (or anybody else) who would like to see my CV please ask?

Finally, does anybody know any recruitment agencies in this area of France that I could contact for help?

Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

Thank you.

Hi,

Just read your posting, I am currently in the same position as you, I%26#39;m living in Amboise with my French husband, I originally came to france in November 2005 and found a job within the first week, my French was non existent and is still quite poor but you will be surprised how quickly you will pick it up. I returned to the uk for 6 months and now I%26#39;m back i France for the foreseable future. Just wondered how you%26#39;re getting on?

Addeco seem to be a pretty %26#39;international%26#39; recruitment agency and I am sure I have seen offices for them in various towns in France.

They also recruit in the UK and have a UK website, but here is the international one :

adecco.com/Channels/…home1.asp

perhaps you could contact the Tours tourist info - or perhaps they have a municipal website or chamber of commerce site that might be of use to you.

Bon Chance
