Airport transportation on May 1st. Problems?

I will be departing CDG airport on May 1st. I know its a major holiday where alot of places are closed. Will I have trouble getting to the airport on that morning? What is the best way recommended to get to CDG from a hotel around the Louvre area? Anyones suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!

Hello;

You can always take a cab, but holiday fares will be in affect.

The RER will be running, unless there is a strike. Take metro 1 towards Chateau de Vincennes and change to the RER line B at Chatelet. Take that to CDG

Another option is the Air France Les Car Buses. Take the metro 1 towards La Defense and get off at Charles de Gaulle Etoile, exit the metro walk around to Wagram and the Air France bus stop is right there...

Will there be a lot of traffic if we take a taxi? Do you know about how long it would take to get there via taxi?

There is not traffic jam on 1st of may, except on some places the workers celebrate this day. To avoit it, the driver could decide to make a detour ans so from Louvres area, it could take about 40 mn and in the 1st of may will cost about 60 euros.

If it will be after 5PM, it should be more interesting to go by metro+RER because this will be the beginning of traffing jam due to people moving back home after a %26quot;tuesday bank holliday%26quot;: lot of people will have monday in vacation and will leave Paris from Friday evening to tuesday!!
