Airport Shuttle

Has anyone used the Airport Shuttle service from CDG to Paris and back? I found them in one of my guidebooks and wanted to be sure they were reliable before I booked them. Need to know asap as we are leaving soon.

I have used the Bluvan.fr and found them good on the last 5 trips to Paris.

I have not used Airport Shuttle .

I think you will find that you can get into Paris faster and cheaper on the train.

Certainly cheaper, and probably quicker. If I am travelling light, which is my normal travel mode, that is how I get to and from CDG. Otherwise I simply take an official Taxi Parisien from outside the terminal. I am not a huge fan of shared shuttles. They seem to have more than their fair share of problems.

Whether or not the Metro is quicker will depend on where you are staying in Paris and how close you are to a Metro stop. If it is your first time in Paris and you have more than one easily carriable piece of luggage, it would be best to choose taxi or shuttle. Adding lugging baggage thru tunnels, buying tickets in a foreign country with foreign currency (which you may not have) and navigating the Metro; to the tail end of a 7+ hour trip can be a bit overwhelming.

Shuttles can be good or bad, make sure you know what you are getting. Make sure you get a paris phone number on confirmation so if need be, you have a way to contact them once you arrive. Many shuttles offer a toll free number so you can call from any pay phone without coins or cards. As far as the speed of the shuttle is concerned, you the shuttle will most likely make several stops. If you are flying into CDG and staying on the Right Bank, it is more likely that you will be dropped off first than if you are staying on the Left Bank, which is farther away.

You can get a complete overview of all the airport transfer options at www.parisnet.net/info_airplane.html

I think we will take the taxi----we%26#39;re travelling light but if the shuttle is a problem, I will have an angry husband and I don%26#39;t want that on our vacation. Thanks for the replies and help....it helped me make a decision.

We took the Air France shuttle (13 euros each). It was nice, but it took a lot longer than we thought to get to our gate. We left at 8 and barely made a 9:20 check in. Also barely made the 10:20 flight because of more shuttling from check in to gate. Allow LOTS of time.
