Hey everyone-I apologize if this particular ? has been answered before- I did a search but couldn%26#39;t find exactly what I was looking for:
We will be arriving in Paris at 9:00 am on a Sunday, and there are 5 of us. I understand getting a taxi for 5 people in Paris is a little difficult, but I wondered if it is easier to get one at CDG to our hotel near Trocadero. We thought about taking the RER, but my mother has some health problems, has never been to Europe and I know she%26#39;s going to be exhaused after the flight...and so we just thought it would be easier to splurge on a taxi at first, and then take the Metro the rest of our stay.
So do you think we can find a taxt for 5 people, or will we have to take 2 seperate ones? Also, what do you think the approx. cost would be for 5 people? Thanks!

I don%26#39;t think you should have a problem with this while at CDG. It might be a little difficult on the average Paris street corner, but if you just get on the taxi line just outside the airport doors, there is a very orderly system for getting taxis, and the attendant there will be able to get a larger taxi for you when you get to the front of the queue (you might have to wait a little bit longer, but it shouldn%26#39;t be bad.) I%26#39;ve found that even when the line is long, it goes pretty quickly.
Be aware that there are also rogue taxi drivers at the airport who may try to pull you away from the regular taxi queue with an offer of a van that%26#39;s parked farther down the terminal. They look nice; they speak nicely to you; but do NOT take these vans. Wait on the regular taxi line (believe me, you%26#39;ll know it when you see it) and let them get you a regular taxi.
It usually costs me between 50 and 55 Euro to get from CDG to city center; it may cost you a little bit more considering larger taxi and luggage. I agree that for anyone who has health problems it%26#39;s absolutely worth the price of a taxi.

We are a family of five and arrived in Paris CDG last Tuesday (we are leaving tomorrow morning after an incredible week). We had absolutely no problem getting a taxi for all of us from the airport. We went out to the taxi line and told the attendant and she called a larger van from the line to get us. THere was no delay and it cost us around 49 Euros from CDG to our apartment in the 6th. We were 2 adults, 3 kids, three small pieces of luggage and we each had a carry on. It was as straightforward as getting a cab for one person.
IT was worth every penny to be whisked to our apartment after a long flight.
Hope that helps.

It is better to take 2 taxis, because maximum capacity for a cab is 4
(you have to pay an extra fee if more than 3-)the cost of the
bus air france is about 10 euro par person one way,the cost of the taxi from CDG to trocadero is about 40-45 euro.(little more on sunday maybe)
it will difficult to find a taxy on sunday morning,so the better choice is to take 2 taxis directly from CDG.
it is better to write the exact adress of the hotel and buy a paris map
with metro station on the arrival, show the adress to the taxi driver.
so solutions are:
a- 2 taxis
b- 1taxi for 3 people and 2 can take rer
c-air france bus for 2 cdg-to charles de gaulle etoile then metro to trocadero
my personal opinion considerate sunday morning, health problems ect.
take to taxis...
extimated amount for two cabs less then 100 euros maybe less.
remenber also that taxi charges also 1 euro for the luggage.
bestt apc

I%26#39;d like to echo the experience of jjjkn: As a family of five, we%26#39;ve never had any trouble getting one cab for all of us from CDG to the hotel. When you make your way to the front of the line, the attendant will call a van for you.

The biggest problem you are likely to encounter may be the amount of luggage your party of five(5) will have with them. But most mini-van type taxis can carry five(5) adults and SOME luggage....how much will pretty much be at the discretion of the driver.
There will be two(2) sets of charges for the ride. The first will be the actual metered fare---the amount displayed on the taxi meter. The second will be the OFFICIAL surcharges---2.70 €uro ea. for the 4th and 5th passengers and 1 €uro per bag for each bag AFTER the 1st. These official surcharges will be ADDED separately to the amount displayed on the meter. No tip for the driver is included. As an example, youa are a party of five(5) with one(1) bag each....if when you arrive at your destination, the amount displayed on the meter is 50 €, there will be 5,40 € additional for two extra passenges and 4 € for the bags...the total fare will be 59.40 €...plus any tip you decide to provide.
As a basis of cost comparison, if you were to take the #2- Les Cars Air France coach to its terminus at Arc de Triomphe and walk down Ave Kléber to Traocadero, the fare would still be 65 € (13€ x 5). Even if you used the RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne--ROISSYRAIL--train and Metro connect, the fare would be 40,50 €...plus at least one train change (RER %26#39;B%26#39; to DENFRET-ROCHEREAU--#6 Metro to TROCADERO) and Correspondence through RER and Metro stations. Even with the assistance of four other people to handle baggage...not an ideal mode of transfer for someone with health issues. The TAXI PARISIAN from CDG looks pretty good.

We were a group of 7 arriving at CDG and made arrangements with Paris Blue Airport Shuttle to pick us up and deliver us to the apartment where we were staying, and to pick us up for the return. The rate is discounted if you book early. You might want to go online to try that, it worked out very well for us and all of our luggage.
