hi all,
Thanks to all regulars for some wonderful suggestions. Here is my itinerary for 3 nights stay in paris. any suggestions to whether its doable or not.
I have got metro pass n museum pass. Travelling good friday n easter long weekend. I am really excited this is our 1st trip to paris.
Day 1: arriving on friday at noon. checking in at hotel in montparnasee area. Spending rest of the day visiting Louvre, Palais Royal and Jardin des tuilleries.
Day 2: Notre dame cathedral
Saint Chapelle
latin quarter
walk along seine
Eiffel tower in evening
Day 3: Eiffel tower early morning.
arc de triomphe
champs elysee
musse de orsay
montmatre?
late evening: cruise/moulin rouge
Day 4
Versaille morning to afternoon
return to louvre.
17: 00 return back home.
does this seem reasonable. we are in our 30s and plan to walk up Eiffel tower to beat queues. does that help?
Thanks in advance.

The Eiffel Tower opens at 9:30a. My hubby and his friend got there at 8:45a and were one of the first in the queue. They got in the first lift up and were all done by 10:30a. If you get there early it shouldn%26#39;t be a problem. The queue for steps was certainly way shorter, (pretty much non-existent when we were there midday) but you can only go as high as the middle. You%26#39;d still have to queue for the lift the rest of the way.

Another thing i wanted to ask was that shud i leave Montmatre to last day or i%26#39;ll have time to visit it on day 3. really confused about that. on day 4 after returning from versaille, and before leaving for gare de nourd around 17:00, i dont think we can do monmatre there.
Alternative is to leave versaille out and do jus montmatre on 4rth day. Any other must sees or does i am missing.
Probably luxembourg gardens and musee de orangerie, where can I fit it in?

cheers mlschless. I will try n get early to Eiffel Tower n assess the queues. If they are short, will probably take elevator up. Thinking about my tired legs now. ;) Actually it depends on how we feel that morning.

I would think you could hit Montmartre on day 3. I suppose it all depends on what time you start your day and how long you linger at each place. We did more walking that shopping on Champs-Elysees so that was not overly time-consuming. Same with Arc de Triomphe - that was relatively quick. Walk around the bottom, take a few snaps, head up and take a few more, look around, then back down again. It just depends on your pace. I just posted a trip report and you%26#39;ll see that while we covered quite a bit of ground each day, I didn%26#39;t really feel like we were rushing through anything.
I assume your late evening is a cruise OR Moulin Rouge. If it%26#39;s Moulin Rouge, then you%26#39;re right there anyway if you go to Montmartre. Hope that helps.

Thanks again. We are planning to start early n my hubby is early riser so shudnt be a problem. Sorry, I should have made it clear in my first post we have booked a siene cruise and then moulin rouge on Sunday (3rd day night). So will be have to at 2 rue des Pyramides by 20:00.
Cheers.

Champs de Mars (picnic)/Rue Cler

Your second itirnerary seems better to me, but day 3 especially is big and day 4, well Versailles may take longer than you think. Unless of course it is an organised tour, as opposed to independent travel, and you know the time of departure and return.
Paris is such a wonderful city to walk around and because of this you tend to get waylaid along the way with curiosity.
I am assuming that the Louvre itself is not such a priority as it is an item on the first afternoon then left to the last minute. For instance already I have spent several days there and still have many exhibits and one full wing to see.
Day 2 looks perfect, you wil discover much more than you have listed anyway.
If you are disciplined, you will accomplish your itinerary. We certainly had to be during our last trip and it worked for us.
Have a wonderful time.

cheers blossom,
day 3 has lot of walking to do. I am having 2nd thoughts now about versaille. Shud i take it off my itinerary and concentrate on central paris. my just explore it random n get lost. or spend some more time in louvre. my other half can spend hours in museums.
we are quite flexi n may change our plans. i think its good to have a 2nd plan.
thanks for that input.

If it were me, with so little time there I%26#39;d punt Versailles and save it for my next trip to Paris.

thanks mschless. i have removed versaille from my itinerary. Probably will finalise it 2morrow. jus working the metro routes tonight. Hopefully working out metro routes will not be problem. but if i get stuck somewhere, i know whom to ask?
Cheers
