we are a family of five who would like a nice hotel with good facilities on the beach close to good surfing. we would also consider a villa or appartment. My two sons want to surf while we can enjoy the beach and the town. the hotel palais is not available when we want to go in mid july but it looks a bit too posh. we want to be able to relax after a day on the beach.
would appreciate the help.

I recommend the Hotel Palym - very surfer-friendly, and very cheap for what you get. In the old town, close to the main surfing beach, plus surf schools. Staff don%26#39;t mind you walking through the lobby with surfboard and wetsuit, and there are places to hose them down. Our room came with a mini-kitchen. When you read the reviews for this hotel beware, at least one of them is for an entirely wrong hotel.
Only problem with the Palym is no parking, but you can easily find somewhere first thing in the morning, or late in the evening, then the car can stay put for as long as necessary.

Hi,
You%26#39;d probably be happy with the Radisson hotel.
0033 559 01 13 13.
It%26#39;s located just above the Côtes de Basque beach, which is a great surf spot. My son surfs on it year round and we live in the neighborhood just behind the hotel.
From the Radisson you%26#39;re close to everything. They have a rooftop area with a wonderful view , it%26#39;s got a pool, you can have drinks and light meals up there as well.
They just re did their main restaurant, it%26#39;s nice.
Enjoy your trip!
