Hotel d'Aubusson

I will be coming to Paris on a girlfriend%26#39;s shopping trip in May, and will be staying at the Hotel d%26#39;Aubusson. Could anyone provide information on the hotel, and also restaurants that are nearby.

Also, would it make sense to rent a car and do Versailles and Giverny in one day, or should I take a train to each on separate days?

I was there on a girlfriend%26#39;s trip last week (3/29-4/3 2007) and I highly recommend the hotel. The staff is friendly and professional and everyone speaks English. The hotel is very nice w/relatively large bathrooms. The bar is very lively on Thur, Fri %26amp; Sat nites (a lot of locals) but very, very quiet the other nights. Great salon area if you%26#39;d rather have drinks (or tea) there.

We requested a room w/2 beds and were surprised to find our room did indeed have two beds: but one headboard! We were able to move one bed over but still a little close. You might be specific about having TWO SEPARATE beds.

I had requested a room facing the street because I thought it would be fun to hear %26quot;Parisan street sounds%26quot;. Mistake. It was very warm (even with the heat off) and we had to open the windows. There was noise all nite and then early in the morning as the cleaning crews started. The courtyard view is not very inspired but should be quieter.

There are many, any restaurants within steps of this hotel. It is a perfect location for restaurants and shopping. The hotdogs on the sidewalk across the street are wonderful!

I wouldn%26#39;t think of staying anywhere else but the Hotel d%26#39;Aubusson when I return -- very soon!
